All happiness depends on a leisurely breakfast. ~John Gunther
Jim
enjoys being the "chef" at Romancing the Past B&B in Fulton, MO, but in fact he's been cooking in one
form or another for most of his life. It all started in junior high
school, when he took a class called "Boys Chef." Since then, he's been
lucky enough to have chef friends professionally trained in gourmet fare
teach him a dish or two. So now your taste buds will be
tantalized
over bed and breakfast entrees such as "Light & Lively Quiche," "Stuffed French
Toast with Berries," "Sticky-Bun
Cinnamon Delights,"
or "Bacon-Wrapped Egg Cups with Hollandaise Sauce."
Cate's
contribution to breakfast comes from her love of baking, and her
"Cranberry Orange Tea Bread" or "Queen's Muffins" are just the ticket to
compliment your coffee or tea. You'll find more of her little
touches-fine English china and linen napkins, porcelain teapots, and
flowery accents to highlight your dining experience.
In addition to these delicious breakfast treats that are included in every night's stay at our Missouri Inn, we also offer several special packages that will allow you to enjoy more meals with us.
Dining Delight
If you are wanting a very special and romantic dining experience, then look no further than your own bedroom door. Reserve our dining package, and enjoy a four course dinner served privately to you in candlelit splendor. The dinner is prepared fresh for you that evening, while you are relaxing and enjoying the many amenities at our romantic B&B. The price is $39/person, and includes an appetizer, salad and fresh bread, our house specialty which is a cracked pepper fillet mignon and 2 sides, and a dark chocolate cherry dessert with vanilla ice cream and butter rum sauce completes this magical evening meal. A beverage of choice is served with this meal, but we also provide tea, coffee, or soda with the dinner.
High Tea on Court Street
Share Cate’s love of all things English with an afternoon ‘High Tea.’ Begin your experience by donning vintage hat and gloves followed by a champagne toast. Cate then guides you through a variety of tea choices to accent your meal, which includes light fluffy scones followed by a variety of delectable finger sandwiches. A yummy selection of desserts caps off the feast, including ‘to die for’ teacup-shaped cookies and ‘Brown Betties,’ a chocolaty concoction so named for Bettie Jameson, whose 1860s portrait smiles down on your teatime event. Parties of 10 or more $15 each; 9 or less, $19 each. Reservations required but overnight stay not necessary.
