Our Romance With
Romancing the Past
At
the end of 2004, we relocated from fast-paced Los Angeles to the
charming, historic town of Fulton, MO. Asked why we chose to move to the
Midwest, Jim's favorite response is "We're in the witness protection
program!" The truth of the matter is, we fell in love with Romancing the
Past, this romantic Missouri bed and breakfast, the minute we laid eyes on it, and our love for the town itself
capped the deal.
Don't be surprised to hear strains of music
filling the halls at this Victorian Inn, with our
love of singing and Jim's talented piano scores.
We're proud to continue the
tradition
started by singer
and pianist, Charlotte Jameson, a former owner of the house. We recently
purchased Charlotte's original piano from a local university and brought
it back to the house. Cathlynn, a published writer, has brought "themes"
to the guest rooms, and you never know what treasures you may discover
during your visit.
You may meet two other members of the family if they happen to sneak out
front during your stay. Pitty Pat is a 3-year-old tortoise-shell calico
who "came with the house." (Ask us to tell you the story while you're
here.)
Boo
Radley (affectionately known as Boodle) is part Siamese and a more
recent acquisition--we found him abandoned on a curb July 4th weekend,
just a kitten.
Most importantly, it's the experience of sharing home and hospitality
that brings us the most pleasure. We never fail to marvel at the
different kinds of people we meet, and how it seems strangers become
friends in no time at all. We hope you'll join our list of new friends
soon!
Hail, Guest! We ask not what thou art;
If Friend, we greet thee; hand and heart;
If Stranger, such no longer be;
If Foe, our love shall conquer thee.
